Sindelfingen manufactures the S-Class, the flagship vehicle from Mercedes-Benz. The latest S-Class model went into series production in 2017. In the future, the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen will also produce electric vehicles of the product and technology brand EQ. With more than a century of history, the Mercedes-Benz Sindelfingen plant is the most traditional vehicle plant of Daimler AG and will be further developed into a center of excellence for electric vehicles of the upper and luxury class in the global production network. Sindelfingen, as the lead plant, manages the production of the S- and E-Class series within the worldwide production network of Mercedes-Benz Cars. In Sindelfingen runs with the S-Class the flagship of Mercedes-Benz from the band. The latest S-Class went into production in 2017. The central functions Production Planning, TECFABRIK, are located in the immediate vicinity of the site. The proximity to the central functions makes the location Sindelfingen unique. TECFABRIK is the future laboratory for innovative production technologies and processes in the context of Industry 4.0 and smart production. In addition, the group research of Daimler AG and the development and design of Daimler are located in Sindelfingen. This makes Sindelfingen one of the world’s leading competence centers for safety, innovation and design in automotive engineering. The Mercedes-Benz Customer Center in Sindelfingen supplies around 250 vehicles every day.
