Osnabrück has been a proud car city for over 100 years. Building on this tradition, Volkswagen Osnabrück GmbH was founded in December 2009. The factory site covers an area of 426,000 m2 and employs more than 2,300 staff, who form the entire automotive process chain from the first idea through to series production.
The company makes its expertise available to all brands in the Volkswagen Group.
Currently, more than 2,300 employees in the Technical Development, Metal Group and Vehicle Construction divisions cover the entire automotive process chain, from the initial idea through to series production:
The technical development of Volkswagen Osnabrück GmbH specializes in open vehicles such as convertibles and roadsters, hat developments and small series products with high technical standards for all Volkswagen AG brands. Technical development marks the beginning of the automotive process chain. The employees achieve maximum performance through efficient development processes and state-of-the-art facilities or test stands: the concept development, the design departments, but also the project and type support. They all work hand in hand on the products of tomorrow.
The Metall Group forms the link between technical development and vehicle construction in the automotive process chain. In the areas of toolmaking, plant construction and press shop, we bundle our sheet metal expertise and ensure the high design and quality standards of Volkswagen.
Vehicle construction forms the heart of Volkswagen Osnabrück GmbH. In the areas of body shop, paint shop and assembly, the employees realize day by day automobile dreams.
